The Veronica Project (CD)
After four years of participation in a songwriting collective called The Veronica Lodge, whereby members in their own little home studios would commit a single day of each month to writing, recording, and mixing SIX SONGS in a contiguous 24 hours, René and Michael had amassed a significant number of tunes. That number would be somewhere in the ballpark of about 288 songs. 17 of those made the cut for The Veronica Project, a 45 minute testament to the power of forced creativity. Without the Lodge experience, and with a brand new bouncing baby boy, HCE might not have written anything during these years. Instead, the music was unstoppable. Different in tone from previous outings, more acoustic, more stripped down, less bombastic, but as odd, funny, quirky, philosophical, and tuneful as anything the band ever produced.
